Urban Edge Environmental Consulting Ltd (also referred to as UEEC) is a multi-disciplinary environmental consultancy that specialises in ecology and environmental planning. What personal data we collect and why we collect it

UEEC collects both personally identifiable information and anonymous usage information when you visit our website.

The personally identifiable information is captured when you fill in one of our online forms. This may include your name, email, phone number and enquiry. We do not collect sensitive personal information or carry out profiling and we only request the minimum information necessary for any given purpose. The information you submit to our online forms is not used for marketing purposes unless you explicitly request this using our separate pop-up form.

UEEC collects and uses your information for the following purposes:
• To respond to a project enquiry
• To enable payment of services provided
• To pass your contact details on to a credit agency in the case of a bad debt
• To contact you in the future to market our services
• Where we need to comply with a legal obligation

Analytics

The anonymous usage information collected from our website consists of general statistics regarding the use of the UEEC website provided by Google Analytics. It helps us maintain quality of service and make improvements to our website. We do not capture IP addresses.

On what legal basis do we process your data?

Consent

If you have submitted your personal data to us via our website, we will respond to your query. We will only contact you in a marketing capacity if you have given your consent for us to do so. This consent can be withdrawn at any time by contacting us using the details above.

Legitimate interest

As outlined in recitals 47 to 50 of GDPR, consent is not always required. We may contact individuals without consent where there is a “relevant and appropriate relationship” such as with previous and prospective clients. In accordance with GDPR’s Legitimate Interest, we sometimes use publicly accessible information on corporate websites, LinkedIn and in the trade press to contact individuals whose company and professional role indicate that they would benefit from the specialist services we provide.

How we protect your data

UEEC is committed to protecting the privacy and security of your data. Although our website does not take online payments, our web server is installed with an SSL Certificate which enables secure connections and user sessions. Our website uses WordPress and we ensure all security updates are installed as they are released. We do not currently use cookies or embedded content. Offline, our data subjects’ information is held in secure, password-protected applications.

How long we retain your data

Your data is only held only for the length of time deemed appropriate, which can vary according to how frequently you may require our services. We take care to ensure that our information is kept up-to-date and accurate.

Who we share your data with

UEEC does not sell, rent or lease this data to third parties. We may share your data with a credit agency in the case of bad debt. Apart from this, we would only disclose your personal information if required to do so by law.

What rights you have over your data

You have the right to:
• Request a copy of the information we hold about you
• Correct data that we hold about you that is inaccurate or incomplete
