Wesley joins the UEEC team with over eight years’ technical experience working with trees as both a consultant and private  contractor. He is a Professional Member of the Arboricultural Association, an Associate Member of the Institute of Chartered Foresters, and a Quantified Tree Risk Assessment registered user. He has a passion for urban forestry and utilising tree populations for environmental, ecological and cultural benefits.

The focus of Wesley’s work includes supporting planning applications for commercial developments. He is involved in all aspects of BS 5837:2012 related work including arboricultural surveys, impact assessments and method statements. He uses both CAD and GIS software to work collaboratively with client design teams to help reach planning permissions successfully. Wesley was previously the Arboricultural Lead for one of the largest national infrastructure schemes in the country covering an area from Euston to West Ruislip in Greater London.

His interests and work combine the enhancement of ecosystem services and green infrastructure design. Through consultation with Forest Research, the Capital Asset Value for Amenity Trees (CAVAT) board and the i-Tree UK project, he has developed methodologies to assess the environmental and socioeconomic impacts of trees within the context of development to aid in decision making.

When not hanging in or around trees, Wes like to spend his time cycling up the South Downs and trying to play chess.
