South Downs Planning Advice Note

This month saw the launch of a new planning advice note for the South Downs National Park Authority, jointly prepared by Urban Edge Envirnmental Consulting and Alison Farmer Associates:

  • “Assessing Impacts on the Landscape, Wildlife and Cultural Heritage of the South Downs National Park – Advice to Homeholders and their agents”

The Advice Note sets out how to assess the possible impacts of home improvements on the landscape, wildlife and cultural heritage of the South Downs National Park.

It includes a checklist of things to consider when developing proposals for different types of work on a home such as adding conservatories, loft extensions, out buildings, fencing and walls, greenhouses, and domestic renewable energy schemes. The checklist will be taken into account when a planning application is submitted.

The Advice Note can be viewed here.
