3 Simple Steps to Secure Planning Permission – Fast

Urban Edge Environmental works with developers, planners and architects throughout the UK. We understand that one of the key frustrations they face is when a proposal is rejected or delayed because it has failed to properly consider the impact of the development on protected species that may be present on the proposed site.

We give our clients the best chance of securing planning approval, without avoidable delays, by ensuring they follow these Three Simple Steps:

1. Book a Preliminary Ecological Appraisal as early as possible in the project to determine whether protected species could be present at the proposed site,

2. Use the information gained from the survey to assess the impact of proposed development on habitats which could be used by protected species, for example bats, birds, great crested newts and reptiles. Where required, commission specific surveys to establish how these species are using the site,

3. Incorporate our effective and proportionate recommendations on mitigating the impacts on protected species and their habitats, and highlight these adjustments in the proposal.

Surveys for many protected species are seasonally constrained. By addressing these issues early on in your project, delays and unplanned costs can be avoided.
