Lee Valley Regional Park

Client: Lee Valley Regional Park Authority

Project: Lee Valley Regional Park (2007 – 2010)

The Lee Valley Regional Park and the Lee Valley Regional Park Authority were created in 1967 through the Lee Valley Regional Park Act 1966. The Act requires the Park Authority to prepare plans setting out proposals for the future management and development of the Park.

Members of our team prepared SEA and HRA assessments of the latest Park Plan, known as the Park Development Framework (PDF). Landscape ecology principles were incorporated into the approach for both assessments since the scale and linear nature of the Park, together with its water features and other biodiversity assets, warranted a clear understanding of strategic ecological principles and practice.

The PDF will set out the Park Authority’s aspirations for future development and management in the Park, through presenting a strategic framework for the Park Authority’s activities, and providing guidance for other organisations and individuals involved in the development and management of land within the Park which includes part of the 2012 London Olympics site.
